Find balance in our home

At Razz Yoga, we value home and all it represents. The cozy, comfortable, “I belong” feeling that home gives you. Home is where you can exhale and embrace simple pleasures. When you come home, you are welcomed, taken care of, cared for and about. These are the feelings we want for you at Razz - your home for yoga.  We are dedicated to helping our community find balance. Our wish for you is that you feel welcomed, encouraged, and accepted.

Meet our team

The members of the Razz Yoga family have been together for many years. Once teachers join our community, they settle in and stay.

Heather Rasmussen - Founder

Yoga has been a part of Heather’s life for over 20 years, and her practice has helped her physically and emotionally, both on and off the mat. Yoga allows Heather to live each moment more mindfully. After a fulfilling career in special education, Heather felt inspired to bring an inclusive, compassionate studio to the rural area of Phoenix, MD. She opened Razz Yoga and completed her 200 hour training in 2015. Heather has remained a devoted student. Currently, she’s immersing herself in Sri Dharma Mittra's Life of a Yogi Teacher Training and is a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. In her classes, Heather seeks to create a warm, safe environment to help you find peace and joy in your practice. Her hope is that you step off the mat feeling refreshed, nourished and balanced.

I practice to feel present, connected, and grounded in the moment. I practice maintaining consistency within my true knowing. I practice to feel inspired, creative, and open to all possibilities. I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C) and 500hr Registered Yoga Teacher. I love the down-to-earth feel of Razz. The studio and community help one to feel at home in self. Razz has a practice for everyone, and I know my therapeutic and somatic offerings belong here!

I practice yoga to connect with my inner peace and wisdom. I appreciate learning to bring my attention to one breath, one pose, one moment at a time. I’m a RYT 500 certified yoga instructor, and what I love most about teaching at Razz is the community we have built. Each student is unique, and I have loved getting to know so many wonderful souls through Razz. My intention for my students is for each human to feel loved, accepted, honored, and connected to their inner peace and wisdom.

Courtney practices yoga because it allows her to be fully herself. It calms her mind, focuses her thoughts, and challenges her body. She believes yoga is a safe place to explore movement, community, and healing for the soul. Courtney practices at Razz because of their open arms and warm smiles ready to welcome you to the Razz Yoga family. She is an RYT 200 certified instructor and her intention is to provide a safe place for each person so that they can enter into meditation, practice the yoga asanas and find peace for their body, mind, and soul.

When I first started taking yoga classes years ago, it simply gave me a chance to stretch and strengthen my body. I quickly realized it also destressed my body and my mind. I have an RYT 500 certification and my intention is that through the practices of pranayama, asana, meditation, and deep relaxation my students enhance their ability to concentrate and therefore calm the mind, feel physically rejuvenated and mentally more content and peaceful.

Yoga guides me and teaches me as I strive to be the best version of myself. I most enjoy the people at Razz Yoga. It is a community of caring individuals who support one another. Razz feels like family. My intention for my students is that they experience whatever it is that they most need and desire during those moments on the mat.

Yoga has been a transformative journey for me, providing both physical challenge and mental calm. Rolling out my mat brings a sense of calm and personal space, enhancing my energy, clarity, and overall well-being. The Razz Yoga community is therapy for the soul! Everyone is so welcoming and warm. I aim to create a safe space in my yoga class where everyone feels free to be their true selves, embracing compassion and kindness. I encourage having fun and finding joy in the practice, reminding us that it's okay to laugh and that each day brings new awareness.

As a mother of three and advocate for balanced living, yoga has been a transformative journey for Jenny. Initially drawn to the physicality of yoga as an athlete, she soon found it was a sanctuary for mental clarity and intention-setting. She is a 500 RYT, a certified holistic health coach, and a Pilates reformer, and barre instructor.

Jenny loves the sense of community at Razz Yoga, her local studio in Phoenix, where she finds connection and support. Her intention for her students is to guide them in discovering their own practice, helping them find balance, strength, and peace on and off the mat. Watching her students evolve is truly a blessing. Jenny is passionate about alignment and encourages her students to reach beyond their perceived limits.

The razz community has a beautiful energy that is so inviting and loving. The studio feels like home. Yoga grounds me. I love using what I’ve learned as a Reiki Master and RYT-200 instructor to help my students find a little peace in their day, come back to their breath and feel more at ease in their body. I believe that my favorite mantra says it all....a little ease so that you can “smile”...a little time to “breathe”...and remembering that is ok to “go slowly”.

Joyce Lynagh, RYT 200, practices yoga to connect with her true self—physically, mentally, and spiritually. Her recent yoga teacher training deepened this connection, making her practice more meaningful. Yoga helps her feel peaceful, balanced, and present. She cherishes the warm, welcoming community at Razz Yoga, where there's a space for everyone to explore and find their unique style of yoga. Through the wonderful connections with teachers and students, Razz Yoga has become a vital part of her life. In her classes, Joyce aims to create a comfortable and confident environment, inviting students to step away from the busyness of life and connect with themselves through movement, breath, and meditation.

Julie practices yoga to cultivate strength and flexibility—physically, emotionally, and mentally. She values the welcoming, warm environment at Razz Yoga and appreciates the kindness of the community and the excellent teachers. As a 500 RYT and Registered Nurse with 14 years of experience teaching private lessons, Julie specializes in working with clients who have chronic illnesses or physical limitations. Her intention is to ensure that every student feels welcomed, safe, and comfortable in her classes.

Julie Waldron is a dedicated yoga instructor whose practice profoundly enhances her life. She finds that yoga helps her be more present, loving, patient, and resilient in all her roles—whether as a spouse, mother, daughter, sister, coworker, or friend. Julie credits her daily yoga, meditation, and Reiki practice for her three-year remission from MS, underscoring the transformative power of these practices. Having practiced at Razz Yoga for years, Julie felt called to reconnect with the studio and community, aligning with their mission and supporting their growth. Her intention in every class is to meet students where they are, offering a safe, non-judgmental space where they feel seen, heard, and honored. Julie empowers her students with the tools they need to achieve their goals and experience the full benefits of yoga.

Kim Culley, RYT 200, is a passionate yoga instructor at Razz Yoga who views her practice as a journey toward becoming the best version of herself. Through yoga, she continually seeks balance, physical and mental strength, and spiritual guidance, both on and off the mat. This journey provides her with the space to grow and to serve those around her with authenticity. Kim deeply values the Razz Yoga community for its welcoming, non-judgmental atmosphere, where everyone is supported in their personal growth. Her intention for her classes is to create a transformative space where students can feel deeply, experience growth, and evolve in their practice.

Lisa Shealey, E-RYT 500, is a dedicated yoga instructor at Razz Yoga whose practice began with an interest in the physical form of asanas but quickly evolved into a profound inward journey. Each time she practices, Lisa discovers more about herself, deepening her connection to yoga. She loves the genuine sense of community at Razz Yoga, where every student, teacher, and staff member embodies the true meaning of yoga. Lisa feels incredibly fortunate to be part of such a special place. In her classes, Lisa's intention goes beyond achieving challenging physical postures; she hopes her students can carry the essence of yoga into their lives, embodying the practice both on and off the mat.

Yoga makes me a better version of myself. I became RYT 200 and 95 Family certified and began teaching at Razz because it’s a safe haven. My intention for each of my students is that they feel strong, safe, complete, and joyful.

I practice yoga to achieve better overall health and wellness. I have E-RYT 500 and RPYT certifications and love teaching at Razz because it’s open and accepting to everyone. Each person is considered a priority here. My intention for my classes is to serve each student the best way that I can.

Yoga calms my mind and my body. I love the energy at Razz Yoga. Whether you are practicing indoors or outdoors, everyone at Razz is so welcoming. The Razz Yoga community is like a family. It is such a special place to work and to practice yoga. As a children’s yoga instructor, my intention is that my students have fun. If they are smiling and having a good time then I have done my job.

Yoga helps me maintain health and wellness of mind, body, spirit. I teach at Razz because it’s a tight-knit community that supports the studio as well as each other . Razz feels like home to me. My intention is to provide an environment that allows students to leave feeling more comfortable in their own skin. The space I hold is sacred to me; I am truly at their service.

The Razz Yoga Community is very welcoming & friendly. With a light-hearted & open approach to yoga, Razz promotes a feeling of ease & enjoyment on the mat. I practice yoga to nurture kindness, compassion & presence in my life & in the lives I touch. It helps me create space for more energy flow and to find rest in stillness. I got my RYT 500 certification and started teaching to encourage self-awareness and a sense of well being while cultivating each student’s own unique practices. I want them to leave the mat feeling relaxed, energized & balanced.

I practice yoga because it feels good! Yoga makes my body and mind feel strong, flexible and calm. I have my RYT 500 and love teaching at Razz because the community is so welcoming and Razz yogis are a dedicated bunch. I want people to feel the connection between their mind, body and breath so they can transcend beyond just the physical practice and access the benefits of yoga off of their mat. My hope is that people leave feeling stronger, more flexible and more in-tune with themselves.
